I’m Rianne,
a self taught visual artist based in the Netherlands. I create figurative abstract works that explore the emotional layers of personal growth, vulnerability and healing.
My paintings:
To me painting is a way to come closer to the feelings I have put away when I was younger and look into what they mean to me now as I am older. This personal matter connects with a broader, social question: how can we, in this fast-paced overwhelming world, see what is truly alive within us?
My inspiration:
I am always working with the memories that shaped me for who I am. This can be the feeling of a warm hug given by my mother or the pain we feel when growing as a person. My aim is to capture a feeling that can often be overlooked.
My dreams:
In my dreamworld, stillness, wonderment and imagination are embedded in our daily lives. My dream is to keep growing as an artist, to exhibit more, and to create work that feels both personal and universal.
